Protection of the Canal Spit Completed

Thanks to our municipality, supported by our Property Owners Association, the Canal Spit has been protected all the way to Shore Road. Thanks Greg Miller for the photo.

It has been many years in the planning, and it’s wonderful to have it finally completed. This should mean that the canals are safe from storm swells .. for a few years at least!

We are hoping that the sand pumping and groynes will be commenced within about two years.

The section that looks incomplete is in fact the section nourished by the Canal Owners Association’s dredging.
