Pam Golding Properties is one of the sponsors bringing music to the hills and valleys around Franschhoek, specifically chamber music performed by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in the village’s characterful NG Kerk and at La Motte during the inaugural Franschhoek Chamber Music Festival.
This takes place in the picturesque Winelands town from February 24 to 27 this year (2022) and features 10 concerts at various venues in Franschhoek, with wine, MCC and Champagne tastings, special lunches and dinners, and various ceramic and art exhibitions.
A highlight will be an auction of rare and vintage wines, MCCs and Champagnes, proceeds of which will be donated to the Pebbles Project which works to enrich the lives of disadvantaged children and families in the agricultural communities of the Western Cape.
Confirming the company’s support for the weekend’s activities, Pam Golding Properties area manager, Surina du Toit, said the company has a long association with the village and is excited to support the local community through its commitment to this one-of-a-kind event on its annual calendar.
“The masterminds behind the festival are Nic and Ferda Barrow, owners of the specialist Cap Classique property, Le Lude,” says du Toit.
“Passionate about the finer things in life, Nic and Ferde put their hearts and souls into everything they do, and – given that Nic initiated both the KKNK (Klein Karoo National Arts Festival) and the Klein Karoo Klassique Art Festival – we are certain this festival will be a hit as soon as the very first note is played.
“It is an honour to partner with the couple and the Franschhoek team to bring the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra to Franschhoek. And to encourage people to share in the joy of music and fine wine in a way that enables everyone who attends to give back to the broader Winelands community through the charity auction,” she says.
