Whether it’s a flourishing veggie patch, a balcony filled with potted plants or a shady tree, Garden Day is about pausing to appreciate the beauty our gardens bring to life.
What is Garden Day SA?
Garden Day SA is an annual movement inviting South Africans to celebrate their gardens, no matter the size. From rolling lawns to community gardens and simple plant boxes, everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.

Why We’re Getting Involved
In honour of this celebration, our offices in Durbanville, Bellville, Parow, Brackenfell and Plattekloof are inviting our communities to support Christen Aksie Netwerk (CAN) – a local initiative dedicated to uplifting and beautifying our shared spaces.
How You Can Take Part
Celebrate in your own style: host a garden lunch, an afternoon tea, a picnic, or a relaxed braai. Add a festive touch by making a flower crown from garden blooms, and share the joy with family, friends and neighbours.
This year, let your gathering be more than a celebration. Encourage guests to contribute a financial donation to CAN, helping to beautify our neighbourhoods and create lasting benefits for the wider community.
Who is CAN?
Founded in 2019, Christen Aksie Netwerk (CAN) has become a force for positive change in Durbanville, led by passionate individuals including horticulturist Wouter Kruidenier, agriculture and construction expert Pieter Smit, lawyer Danny van Zyl, and entrepreneur Yolande Snyders. Together, they’ve made remarkable strides in enhancing public spaces and inspiring civic pride.
