With its convenient and idyllic location, Bryanston is popular with buyers looking for a suburban lifestyle.
The suburb has broad appeal, attracting young professionals and families, as well as those looking for a secure and lavish lifestyle, looking to upgrade to bigger properties, or business people who possibly have homes in other parts of the country. Buyers of clusters and apartments want the convenience of lock-up-and-go type properties in secure estates.
“Bryanston is an attractive, community-orientated suburb, with tree-lined streets, offering different property types at varying prices. These include apartments, cluster homes, executive apartments and luxury freestanding homes situated on large stands with spacious gardens. With a choice of property options, buyers feel there is a large variety of property types in Bryanston,” says Richard Smith, Pam Golding Properties Hyde Park area manager.
It is conveniently located close to major business hubs, the Sandton CBD, Fourways and Randburg with easy access to all major roads and highways. Prices range upwards from around R1 million for an apartment, depending on the property’s size, location, security, quality of finishes and whether there have been renovations.
According to the South Africa Wealth Report 2019 by AfrAsia Bank and New World Wealth, in 2018 Bryanston was ranked among the most popular suburbs for multi-millionaires – individuals with net assets of +US$10 million. Bryanston was also named as one of the most exclusive suburbs in Johannesburg with a number of homes valued at over R20 million along with suburbs including Houghton, Sandhurst, Hyde Park and Westcliff.
The area boasts a number of eateries, shopping centres, parks, and medical facilities as well as schools including Bryanston Primary School, Bryneven Primary School, Bryandale Bryanston High School, Bryanston Parallel Medium & Pre-Primary School, Brescia House School, Curro Castle Bryanston, Michael Mount Waldorf School, Pine Forest Pre-Primary School, Sandton Primary School and St Stithians College.
“With time at a premium for most people, having schools in the area makes it convenient for parents to drop off and pick up their children. Buyers, especially those with children, want ease of access – and buying in Bryanston offers this plus convenience,” says Smith.
Bryanston continues to experience strong demand and remains a popular choice for many buyers looking for a live, work and play lifestyle, adds Smith.
